The Chairperson of the Scrap Metal Council (SMC) proudly joined senior government officials during the official launch of the 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐩 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, the Government continues to prioritize the growth and regulation of the scrap metal industry as a critical driver of economic transformation. The President’s administration remains committed to creating a supportive policy environment that enables the sector to thrive– ensuring fair trade, security of materials, and sustainable industrial development.

The scrap metal industry plays a vital role in our economy- creating jobs, promoting environmental sustainability, and supplying essential raw materials for key government initiatives. Notably, it supports the Affordable Housing Program, one of the flagship projects under the Kenya Kwanza agenda, by providing cost-effective materials for construction.
